Hail Melbourne!
We returned home on Saturday 6th March to find Rowville had been hit hard by a hail storm. Several windows in the house had been broken. This one was right next to where my laptop was sitting on the table. Fortunately after a dry out and careful dust off it seems to have escaped unscathed.
George's room also suffered and his computer took the brunt of the glass from the window followed by large lumps of ice.
We were in the city when the storm hit. We were sitting in a sports stadium and couldn't hear ourselves think for the noise of the hail on the roof.
The hail was literally as large as golf balls. Several of our neighbours cars were severely battered. Smashed windscreens and dented body panels.
Our journey back from the city was fraught due to flooded roads and rails. Fortunately we had parked the car in an area which was not badly effected. So it was undamaged when we eventually found our way back to it.
The poor shrubs in our garden were almost stripped bare of leaves. The cover to the barbecue was punctured in a number of places.
