September 2011
The Melbourne Schools Band festival at Monash. Kate is in there somewhere with her flute.
A poignant trip to see how Marysville is recovering from the 2009 bush fires.
The town was all but destroyed, but is now rebuilding rapidly.
Its hard to imagine the devastation now the winter is here and everything is green again.

June 2011
I reckon this one is ripe for a caption competition.
That cache must be around here somewhere. A winter geocache hunt in the Dandenong Hills.
The top of Lysterfield Hill. Looking back over to our house, down there somewhere.
A Crimson Rosella feeding off seeds left for them on the balcony. This one was at a friends house following a great barbecue.

March 2011
An autumn walk in the pastureland near to Rowville.
Indulging our interest in Geocaching. This one took us up along a ridge in the Dandenong foothills with great views overlooking the plains of the SE suburbs.
Cool and subdued at this time of year. The countyr is green and pleasant.
Kate's latest interest. She is going to become a concert flautist.

Kangaroo Island I
A short (45 minute) ferry ride from the tip of the penninsula got use across to the island.
There was a cool breeze on board, but the sun was soon puching through the morning clouds.
This was our first sight of the lazy Fur Seals on one of the south beaches.
Of course there were the usual groups of Pelicans gathered in the sunshine too.
